Soak in water or lukewarm water until softened, then gently squeeze out excess water before cooking. Use in dishes such as soups, hot pot, sukiyaki, or simmered dishes. You can also fry it after soaking.
Hot pot / Oden: Add pieces to simmering broth with vegetables and tofu.
Sukiyaki: Cook with beef, vegetables, and sukiyaki sauce.
Fried / Braised: Coat with potato starch or flour and deep-fry, then simmer in sauce.
Pork-Wrapped Cutlets: Wrap pieces with pork belly, coat with flour, egg, and breadcrumbs, then deep-fry until golden.
